A Holy-ing Trinity

Ecclesiastes 3:12 -

Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.


I was thinking about something today on my walk. Wherever we go, we encounter other's spirits, and others encounter ours, and by this we make what we call an "intuitive judgment" about someone.

In first Corinthians, Paul says that whomever unites himself with God is one spirit with Him. And in Genesis we find that a man and a woman become one spirit, one flesh.

Now, after a person is married, they carry with them not one, not two, but three spirits with them, all in one. Does this sound familiar?

Wherever you go you carry your spouse and your God. This is yet another reflection of our God imaging.

And yet a contrast enters when we realize that neither we nor our spouse is perfect, like God.
However, we are connected to God, who makes us holy...so, as God's representation on earth, we are a holy-ing trinity...one that is continually moving towards a state of true, clean God-likeness.
